Rock Out With PAPA
Here’s something you can definitely rock out to. In an interview with SYFFAL, PAPA remarks that their first EP “was a bit like bootlegging at a bodega.” The three man group, from Los Angeles, CA would studio hop as they saved cash for each recording session. At the end of the SYFFAL interview, PAPA mentions that someone had once referred to them as Joe Strummer and the E Street Band. Before reading that, the song, “Put Me To Work” definitely has Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band undertones.
If You Like The Pixies “Where Is My Mind” Then….
There is a strong possibility that you will enjoy Dog Is Dead’s, “Two Devils.”
Sir Sly
This Los Angeles, CA trio has only released a handful of singles but they’re each worth a listen. Think alt-j dabbling in lo-fi elctro. Here are two:

The Head & the Heart “Rivers and Roads” Live
Great footage that my friend took of The Head & the Heart at the Town Ballroom in downtown Buffalo performing “Rivers and Roads.” Honestly, this is the best performance by lead vocalist, Charity Thielen. Her performance gives the Heard goosebumps. Take a look!
Christmas with The Roosevelt’s
If you missed the inaugural event of last year’s Holiday Mix & Mingle, then be sure to attend on December 5th at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historic Site located at 641 Delaware Ave. in Buffalo. The mansion is all decked out in Christmas decorations and is worth coming just to see how beautiful it is, especially with the new renovations. There will be beats by DJ J Zenger, Flying Bison beer, as well as wine and an appetizer buffet catered by Niagara County Community College’s Culinary Arts Program. Yum! Tickets are running out, reserve them now! 716-884-0095
Kendrick Lamar’s, “good kid, m.A.A.d city”
Kendrick Lamar released his second album 2 weeks ago and it continues to be an instant success at #2 on the Billboard album music charts. Good kid, m.A.A.d city chronicles Kendrick’s youth in Compton, California. A coming of age album not only lyrically but artistically. Lamar’s album is a strong narrative accompanied with heavy-weighted beats. The Heard hasn’t been this excited about an album in a long time. Don’t skip a track. You’d be doing yourself a disservice.
